How it all began…

For Nicole Forrester her introduction to the high jump began at the age of 17. She happened to be working at a McDonald's restaurant one Sunday morning when Dave Hunt, a track coach at the University of Toronto, spotted her and suggested that she try the high jump. He referred her to a high jump coach, and within a year she was soaring to a height of 1.73m (5'7) ...Yes it's all true!

Michigan Era

She went onto receive a full scholarship to the University of Michigan and train with James Henry. Demonstrating dedication, a commitment to excellence and an assiduous approach, Nicole further improved her personal best to 1.90m within 1 year. Over her four years at the University of Michigan she would prove to be one of their most prolific athletes. Helping to lead her team to 3 conference titles, Nicole set a series of school and conference records, gained recognition as the 1999 Big Ten Athlete and became a winner of five Big Ten titles and a 5 -Time All-American.

Nicole vs. the World

Competing on the World level, Nicole has continued her pursuit to excellence. She is a Pan-American Games Silver and Bronze Medalist, World University Silver Medalist, Francophone Games Silver Medalist and a Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist. A 5-time Canadian Champion, Nicole is currently ranked number 1 in Canada for the 10th year.  In a highly competitive sport where many try but few succeed, Nicole Forrester hopes that her drive and determination will inspire others to pursue their own excellence. Nicole is pursuing excellence, and has only just begun.  Currently, she has her eyes set on the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

Outside of High Jump

Nicole is also completing a PhD in Sports Psychology at Michigan State University.  She is passionate about performance consulting for businesses and athletes.
